Sylvia was a good neighbor and friend for thirty-six years. She and Bill watched the house, dogs and cats when we were away and reached out to us in many ways when we first joined their neighborhood. Sylvia took charge of my (Wally's) health; she told me I was to join her exercise class and go on walks with her on the Old Middle Turnpike. I am forever thankful she did and will remember her as a gentle and yet very determined friend. We remember the summer cook-outs and neighborhood Christmases we had with Sylvia and Bill. They are in our hearts forever.

I remember when Sylvia I were in the exercising class together, we would debate which of us used the most energy - her down hill or my cross country. We never agreed.

Sylvia was a delight to know and we send you our thoughts and sympathy on her passing.
Love and GOD bless, Priscila and Tom Pike

Aho family: I read your mothers obituary in the Ironwood Daily Globe. My grandmother was married to your grandfather, John Palomaki. I knew your grandfather was from Jyväskulä Finland, which I visited last summer, and my mother spoke highly of your mother, Sylvia. I regret never having met your mother but I admire what an accomplished woman she was! Wish I had known her. I will keep your family in my prayers. My father is turning 97 in August. God's Peace!

Dear Aho Family: Please accept my deepest sympathy for the family and friends of Sylvia. We will never get used to losing our loved ones in death because as Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, we were created with everlasting life in view. But may you find comfort in knowing that Almighty God has promised that soon he will swallow up death forever along with the pain that it brings. (Isaiah 25:8) God has also promised that soon he will return Sylvia to you as it says at John 5:28,29. You can also learn more about what happens when a loved one dies at JW.org.
Sincerely,
Susan

To Bill and Family,
I was very sorry to hear about Sylvia. She will be missed. She was a very special lady, and I'm glad I had the pleasure of knowing her. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers at this very sad time. Just know she will always be with you in your heart and all the memories you've made. Heaven has an angel.

Sylvia was a special person to me and she will always hold a piece of my heart. Although she was a woman of very little words when I knew her, she would always brighten my day whether it was by smiling at me or reaching over to hold my hand. On Sylvia's best days she would hug me tightly and always quietly with a smile on her face thank me for taking care of her. Sylvia was a fearless and beautiful woman with so much love to offer to anyone she knew. She was and will always be loved. I will never forget her.
