We knew Don from earlier days at Christian Life Assembly church. Plus we have some wonderful antiques we had purchased from his shop in Columbia.

Don was always passionate about God and it was always fun to have conversations with him.

Another friend from church, Bobbie Brown, used to always say, "Don looks just like Jesus!"

We are sorry to hear that Don passed at such a young age, but will be glad to see him again someday in the Lord's perfect time.

We are praying for comfort and peace for his family at this time.

With sympathy, Peter and Ingrid Eschholz

We are very sorry to hear about Don. My husband and I have known Don for many years and met him through antique auctions. He was a very kind and thoughtful man, talented and knowledgeable of many subjects. May he rest now.

I'm saddened to hear of Dons passing. I was a frequent visitor to his home to discuss antiques, view his latest sculpture in tiger maple, or to pick up a few pounds of rhubarb to make custard pies. He was always a good friend, my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Don and I were classmates from first grade at Buchanan elementary to graduation from E.O. Smith H.S. What I remember most of Don was his quick wit and quiet demeanor. I don't think I ever saw Don mad. Having moved away after graduation, I would occasionally see Don on my visits to my parents and brother. Don did not change. His inner peace and spiritual strength were evident to all. A gentle soul that will be truly missed.

I was saddened to hear of Don's passing. Although I only saw him on occasion through the years, I have such great memories of fishing the river behind your family house and playing tennis with him oh so many years ago. He was such a gentle soul. I will miss him. Sincerely, Joe Niemasik

I was so sorry to read about Don's passing and especially that the end wasn't kind to him. I knew Don during the time that he attended our church, Christian Life Assembly of God. As an example of his kindness, some 30+ years ago, when I was a single Mom with two young boys and the younger one was graduating from a crib to a bed, I had bought a bedroom set. Don offered and did pick up the furniture, delivered it to my house, set It all up, and wouldn't take anything for doing it. Though I knew Don at church for quite some time, that act of kindness is my fondest memory of him. I am so very sorry for your loss. May he now rest in peace. Nancy Bertone

With deepest sympathy on the painful loss of your brother. It is never easy to lose a loving sibling. May his soul be bound up in the bonds of eternal life.

It is with great sadness that we read of Don's passing. We met him years ago when we attended Christian Life Assembly Church in Willimantic . Each and every time we saw him he talked about God and his dependence on God. Alastair was so special to him as his mother Susan was. His love of antiques, and the creations he made showed the talent that God had blessed him with. We shall miss him but that cannot compare to him seeing his Lord.
