My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. A star went out in the sky, with Mitch's passing. Even though Mitch spent much of his time at work, you were never far from his thoughts or heart. It was a pleasure to hear what the boys were up to and that Mitch was actively involved in their lives.
There was never a job too silly or inconsequential for Mitch. If ever there was a squirrel in a vent, Mitch was your man. He always was very concerned and caring, he will be missed by all. I think of him every time I pass the house he grew up in, see the Thompsons, and especially when I see the dent in the rock wall when Mitch crashed his car as a teenager. He will live on in all of our memories.
Fondly,
Carol Bonacum

To Becky and sons, I am absolutely heart broken for your loss. I worked with Mitch on second shift and was always someone I knew I could count on. The love for all of you was always expressed. There were many stories of his love for his boys. He had a great heart and was always willing to lend an ear to a friend in need or crisis. Please know you’re in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Hold onto your memories, he will always be with you.
Fondly,
Cheryl Henderson

To The Gagne Family,
So I have worked with Mitch for 4 years now and we have had many of great times together. He and I would work a lot of long hours together and always joked with each other we had a great bond and we had many of nicknames for Mitch. Aka Patrick service star, Dad, the highest paid apprentice ever to work with. But all of which he enjoyed when his boys at Uconn would call him one of these names he knew we were the ones he could have a good time with. He took care of the ones that took care of him and who enjoyed him. To the family we have never met just know we are thinking of you all. I’m working on a little something to have made to put on our trucks to remember him and I’ll post on here and let you all know about it when it happens. Sorry for your loss and know he will greatly missed by all his coworkers.

Big Mitch as we called him was a great friend to my father, my brother and I. Mitch had a huge heart and always helped my father. He was there for my brother and I after my father passed away. His sense of humor was notorious and he was always fun to be around. I'll miss him and wish his family the best. - George

Dear Becky Harry & Steve
Looking back to the days Mitch and I worked together what I remember most was how often he spoke of the boys, Mitch was so proud of you guys. Mitch always talked of his family, I remember him advocating hard for his family, especially when the boys were young. He always had a story for everyone, for me it was about old cars and antiques. Becky and family we are so sorry for your loss, you and the boys are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear friends, I am so very sorry to hear of Mitch's passing. We had reconnected at UConn when I was at the Benton and he was my life saver when the building was flooding and I was the only staff on hand! And more recently at the UConn Horsebarn, where he enjoyed the animals and was always asking "anything else you need, Jeanne?". I enjoyed talking with Mitch about school days past and of retirement future. Please take good care of yourselves - you are all in my prayers.
