Jeralyn "Luca" Boccuzzi raised in Storrs, CT and recently of Rockville, CT passed away on July 10, 2018, and is at peace. She was born in Hartford, CT on August 29, 1986. Jeralyn graduated from E.O. Smith High School in 2004 and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in History from Stonehill College in 2008. While pursuing a career in Library Sciences she had worked at the UConn Library in Storrs, CT as a Archivist Specialist in the Archives and Special Collections Unit. Jeralyn held dear to her heart the time she spent working with her father at Killingly Eye Care in Killingly, CT and her good friends there. Jeralyn was a bright, wonderful person whose sense of humor and remarkable memory made her a delight to be around. She will be remembered as an avid reader with a deep understanding of history and humanity. The joy she brought to her family and friends is a blessing cherished dearly. A talented cook and baker, she delighted everyone with her skills. She also enjoyed flowers, gardening, and recently developed a love for trains with her boyfriend Matt, being among the first passengers to ride Amtrak's new Hartford Line. Jeralyn leaves her parents, James and Donna Boccuzzi, her brother Ryan and his wife Elsa, the love of her life Matt Zenko and their cat Bodhi. She is also survived by her grandmother Shirley Boccuzzi, her uncle Brian Boccuzzi and his wife Marie, and her uncle Jack Biolo, along with many cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her grandparents, Elio and Margaret Biolo, James V. Boccuzzi, and her sister-in-law, Madeline Boccuzzi. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to send condolences or honor Jeralyn's legacy may do so on the website www.inmemori.com/jboccuzzi-u47cc. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Mansfield Public Library, 54 Warrenville Road, Mansfield, CT 06250, where Jeralyn's passion for reading and libraries will live on. Jeralyn recently wrote this poem showing us the special soul we will miss. "I will meet you at that place we spoke of where it is half past sunset where the sidewalk is crumbly towards the edges and dark with pools of yellow light beneath the streetlamps where the trees are soft and flirt with the wind in a dance of bending and sighing where the stars and the moon look like they're Van Gogh's-- hazy reflections in the dewing grass where towers of cypress shadow distant borders etching our echoes into the purple-red sky"
