James A. Campetelle, 98, of Storrs, CT, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2019. Jim was born on April 4, 1921 in Waterbury, CT and grew up in New York and New Haven. He joined the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) as a young man and then went directly into the Army during WWII serving in Burma then later served in Korea. He was a combat infantry soldier in both wars. After retiring as a Command Sergeant Major with 20 years’ service he worked at UCONN in Civil Defense. Jim lived in Storrs for over 60 years and now joins his wife Jackie Coxe. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Campetelle of Satellite Beach, FL and his son Michael Campetelle of Storrs, CT. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A private committal service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in the future.
