Jack and I go back over 50 years to when I frequented Friendly Ice Cream, to the years we spent together in the CT National Guard, to the many times we skied together in Utah, Colorado, Maine, and Vermont. He helped me learn to water ski at Columbia lake, where I also enjoyed many an afternoon. On the business side we both had businesses in Manchester less than a mile apart and he would often stop for coffee and chat after he closed .... as he knew I would enjoy the visit late at night as I worked the 3rd shift at my 7-11 store. He was a great friend for all of those years and I am proud and grateful for the privilege of knowing him and sharing so many memorable times together.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathies. My heart goes out to the family. Death is something we will never get use to. In fact, God's Word refers to death as an enemy (1 Corinthians 15:26). Very soon our loving Heavenly Father, Jehovah God, will remove death once and for all and give us the opportunity to see our loved ones again here on the earth.

Madge and family. I remember like it was just yesterday having an interview with Jack. Back in July 1965 at Friendlys in Willimantic.
Was a turning point in my life.
Jack was a great mentor and a great guy to work for.
Best regards, Paul Hammett

My condolences to the Vining family. I just learned of Jack's passing. Jack was a long time volunteer with our Skiers Unlimited program and was a part of our ski family, first as a volunteer, then as a member of the MT Southington Ski Patrol on Friday afternoons. He was loved by families and other volunteers. He created a special bond with the children with whom he worked. For 2 consecutive years he worked with a boy named Jack. We referred to them as the "Jack and Jack Show."
I'm very fortunate to have known him. He was wonderful!

Please accept my condolences for the passing of Jack. There is hope though, as the Almighty has arranged for the resurrection in the future. He promises, "... There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." (Acts 24:15)

I hope you find these few words comforting and provide motivation to prepare for the new world of God's making. (John 17:3)

To the Vining family-
On behalf of myself, I extend my condolences on the recent passing of your husband, father and fellow military comrade, JACK H VINING SR. Although not assigned to the same commands, which Jack was Connecticut ARNG and myself, Rhode Island ARNG in the early 1990s era, we met over the past several years in attending the 169th IN/248TH ENGR alumnus picnic annually and Jack was a pleasure to talk with, amongst others of that generation. Jack was like myself having service in 2 branches, which he was a LT, commissioned in the US Navy, and concluded his service retiring as a SSG, enlisted in the Connecticut ARNG. May his service to his family, community and nation be not forgotten and his legacy live on through all that knew him in life. Respectfully submitted-
