Chauncy was a very dear friend for over 40 years, and we have wonderful memories of our time with the Rucker family. Many happy days were spent sailing, watching and coaching our young sons' soccer teams, and just being together. We miss him and his humor.

Chauncey and Nancy were our neighbors for several years, and we were blessed to live next door to such wonderful people. Chauncey's warmth, kindness, and sense of humor will be sorely missed, and a little grey kitty in Freedom Green is missing a friendly lap.

Please accept our sincere sympathy on your loss. Chauncy was a superb friend, a much respected academic, a reliable church teammate for many events, a greatly valued source of web site support, and a warm presence in our lives. Clearly, his professional achievements and family leadership formed a long lived reputation of quality and vigor, a presence in our collective memory for many years to come. You may be very proud to have enjoyed his enthusiasm for life for your long time together. He was a class act!

Chauncy was such a leader in the early Assistive Technology Movement of the 1980s & 1990s. He was one of the people to help inspire development of the first TechACCESS Conference in RI (in 1988) - a conference that continues today as the Assistive Technology Conference of RI - now in its 30th year. He gave so much of himself to so many professionals and persons with disabilities. His legacy will live on, certainly. Please accept my condolences upon his loss....

Chauncy was a colleague in the UConn special education program for more than a quarter century. In spite of his faux gruff exterior, he was a teddy bear. I have fond memories of his caring and support for my family over the years. He will be missed.

Chauncy was my faculty host when I first interviewed at UConn and I will always be grateful to him for introducing me to the campus and what would become my new colleagues. Chauncy was a strong and unique voice for the benefits of tech for all students and will miss him.

Chauncy was a part of my family's life for 51 years. He taught us to sail, to grill, etc. and to laugh even in times of adversity. He will be missed but will remain in our hearts with love and with thankfulness for the role he played in our lives.

Chauncy was a unique, one of a kind guy, and he brought intelligence and levity into any room he entered. We send our condolences.
